Without double checking my repair logs, I remember about 14k on mine and I used both brakes most of the time. The pads only have about 8 mm lining new but you do not want to score the rotor by running too close to the metal backing plate for the barke material. I got Versach (? spelling - a popular brand in the aftermarket catalogs usually in green lettering and alos has clutch parts) and am happy with the and now have 22K on the bike and last time I checked closely (19k) they was still lots of lining left. First owner(s) of yours may have been a hard braker or used it mostly in town vs highway where often brakes are not used for miles.
